Radio Mirchi’s Listen to my Movie initiative has been constantly earning great recognition and appreciation since its inception. â€?Listen to my movie’ has been a mission undertaken to make impossible possible for those whose world does not go beyond sound. Announced in mid of year 2008, Radio Mirchi had launched this maiden initiative wherein the CSR division in association with Mirchi movies had converted Hari Puttar – a comedy of terrors into the first audio film especially for the blind.
Expressing her happiness on the occasion, Riya Mukherjee, Vice President, CSR and Brand Integration, Radio Mirchi, said It is extremely humbling and gratifying that we were considered for these awards and allowed to share space with corporate(s) doing such wonderful work. When we at Radio Mirchi launched our CSR division less than a year ago, it seemed like the most natural thing to do, because as a radio network we are already embedded closely in the communities where our business lies. However, we had no idea that our work would be appreciated and acknowledged at such a prestigious forum so soon. It is truly encouraging to be recognized at the Reader’s Digest Pegasus Awards. For us it was enriching and motivating as well as humbling to see the kind of work other corporates have been doing, and the scale and vision with which they operate. The awards were as much a learning experience for us as a celebratory one. Our work with the blind so far are our baby steps in the world of CSR, we hope we can contribute to society in ever impacting ways in the years to come….
