MUMBAI: Nisschal Zaveri, an Indian music composer, songwriter, possess extensive knowledge of Indian and western instruments. He completed his degree in Music Production from Los Angeles Music Academy with President Roll of Honour and is a trained Hindustani Classical vocalist.
Zaveri has had a wonderful musical journey. He is now a pioneer of ENZY School of Music and Technology which is the first venture of TBZ Entertainment. He elaborates, “We want our students to be trained practically apart from the theatrical knowledge. We also want to give them a chance to intern with us to help us assist our engineers over here. We want to basically create a breed of engineers, when they go out of ENZY Music school they will be able to showcase a new breed of talent.”
The institute has a unique way of teaching, where faculty teaches and train students in a real-life recording studio environment i.e, ENZY Music school.

What are the learning’s one would get when they come to ENZY Music school. On this Zaveri adds, “We are going to teach sound engineering and music production, instruments, keyboard, guitar, tabla, so that is the basic idea for now. We want to create someone who is futuristic, who is mindful of the musical elements. We want our technicias to not just be a technician they should also be musicians. Most sound/recording engineers they are not musically aware at least that’s the old school of thought, the older technicians basically they were able to handle all these equipments but they are not trained musically.”

There were many challenges while building up ENZY Music school as Zaveri shares, “Getting into a new business, starting from scratch is always a challenge. I think what matters is the amount of work you put into it. So, constructing the state of the art studio are challenges which we can overcome easily. Also getting into the industry, giving them the quality of work, the kind of music that I want to deliver. Musically I want to portray the current trend of music and I am still figuring out this topic.”
He speaks on what he’s learnt over these years, “I always tell the students that studying in the classroom is bookish, but when you actually apply it is a different thing. Through my experience, studying music production and sound engineering abroad I learnt that it is important to go to a studio, to go into that space where you are going to work in the future. The biggest benefit is that the students will actually be working in the best studio which would automatically hap them in any other studio once they graduate from here.”
“Now-a-days the trend is, most of the upcoming musicians and music producers know how to handle the technical aspects as well. So, we want them to think practically in the studio. You can teach all that stuff in the books but they won’t understand until and unless they do it practically. We have it here and students can really take advantage of that,” says Zaveri.
Talking about the future plans for ENZY Music school, Nisschal Zaveri reveals, “We have planned master classes, we have had quite a few colleges from all over India and abroad that come here for music sessions. Similarly, we want to do that for our students and have some industry professionals come and just inspire the students.”
The multi-instrumentalist artist has showcased his singing and compositional talent’s in past and released independent singles Tham Jaa, Raakh Jale, Ashqon Ka Karwaan. He is trained under Ustad Mubarak Ali Khan from Kirana Gharana.
On the support he gets from the music industry he says, “I think I couldn’t have asked for anything better from the industry. We got into our sixth year of operations in 2018 and since then we have got an overwhelming response from the industry, from the musicians overall from Bombay.”
Lastly Nisschal Zaveri spoke about his recent work which includes the title track of Howard Rosemeyer, Jia Aur Jia. His composition Jia O (Sung by Rashid Ali and Jyotika Tangri) is a reprised version of the golden track Jiya O Jiya, sung by the timeless Mohammad Rafi.
