MUMBAI: Farout Media has ventured into the television space with its first IP ‘On The Road’ Project, which will be aired on Zoom TV. The short format is conceptualised and developed by Farout Media for broadcast and digital medium. The entertainment company has signed a two-year deal with Zoom TV for broadcast, and is yet to find a partner for digital. The show, which started on 17 July, will air every Friday at 4pm.
The 5-minute format features Farhan Live (Farhan Akhtar), Shankar- Eshaan –Loy (SEL) and Vishal – Shekhar, who are confirmed artists for the show. Sunidhi Chauhan and Ayushmann Khurrana, are also expected to shoot for the mini-series. The deal with Zoom TV is only for broadcast, and the ownership of the show will remain with the artists, and Farout Media, confirmed Farout Media CEO and co-founder Anurag Rao.
The first eight episodes will revolve around singer/performer- Farhan Akhtar, who will shed light on his passion for music, music influences, performing with his Farhan Live bandmates, and his commitment to live shows. There will be four episodes each for SEL and Vishal-Shekhar.

Commenting on association with Zoom TV, Rao said, “This is a first of its kind programming that will be aired on Zoom TV and will showcase the Indie side of Bollywood musicians and artists. Recently, Zoom TV revamped itself and the new look and feel of the channel makes the show a perfect fit.”
The episodes also contain live performances by artists and bands. Rao said that it will be a treat to see different sides of an artists and band.
With the association, Farout Media has tapped a new way of consuming music. He added that all the episodes will later be made available in a DVD format.
Rao added that Farout will look at developing such formats and working closely with broadcasters and digital platforms to create music-based content like this. He hinted that the next project will be about working with a mix of popular and emerging talents.
Other than TV, the company is looking at developing innovate monetisation models for their artists. On the publishing front, Rao said that talks are on to get Indian and International musicians to collaborate.
Farout Media is clear about developing new sounds and new techniques so that audiences can view another side of Bollywood musicians.
