MUMBAI: Rapper Yo Yo Honey Singh and Bollywood’s own Greek God- Hrithik Roshan will soon be seen together in a new track. Singh is recreating the cult hit ‘Dheere Dheere Se’ from the 1990 film ‘Aashiqui’ as an ode to Gulshan Kumar, and the new version will feature Roshan. The single with revised lyrics, will be released under music label T- Series, and both, Singh and Roshan, will not be charging any fees for the track.
Reminiscing about his days back in the ‘90s, T-Series head honcho- Bhushan Kumar revealed that at the time he was an ardent fan of songs from competitor labels. However, his father Gulshan Kumar handed him the cassette of ‘Aashiqui’, which he still listen to today. “I started listening to it then, and till today, that album remains on my playlist. I remember papa telling me that his most favourite song ever was `Dheere Dheere Se’,” said Kumar.
When he met Kumar for the first time, the ‘Blue Eyes’ rapper told him how much respect he had for Gulshan Kumar. “He had read somewhere that ‘Dheere Dheere Se’ was my father’s favourite song and said that he wanted to recreate it for him and that too for free, even though he generally charges a huge amount. He started the work but then fell ill last year. During his illness, I met him three times at his house. On my third visit, Honey was feeling much better and had started composing again. I asked him if he felt comfortable to finish the song, as I wanted to pay a tribute to my father as ‘Aashiqui’ completes 25 years this month. And Honey completed the song,” added Kumar.

Kumar then met Roshan, who was his first choice to dance to the single. He got him to listen to the track and the actor loved it. Kumar later revealed to him the reason for making the single, and Roshan agreed to it saying, “I am doing it for Gulshanji. That will be my only reason to dance to it.”
Apparently, Kumar is recreating the song for emotional purposes and there is no money to be made through the track. However, if the track does generate any revenue, it will go to charity.
