MUMBAI: India’s most celebrated Producer, Director and Star, Aamir Khan, today joined winners of an on-line and on-air contest run by MiD DAY.com and 94.3 FM, Radio One, the Station for the Fataafat Generation, as part of the MiD DAY’s Meet the Stars Contest….
The contest was heavily promoted by the afternooner, among media houses, agencies and corporate houses. The promotional text drove traffic to the newspaper’s website, where contestants were required to answer simple multiple-choice questions based on the movie to enter. The winners received autographed DVDs of India’s entry to the Oscars Taare Zameen Par…, a movie that’s widely hailed as the best movie of the year, along with a chance to interact with Aamir Khan. The contest was immensely successful, receiving a response of over 4000 entries.
Aamir had also visited Cadbury India’s office as part of MiD DAY’s Bollywood Lunch Contest, a few days after the release of Taare Zameen Par Through this contest the winner received a visit by the star to his / her office ensuring the entire office had a day of fun. The promotion was in line with MiD DAY’s efforts to encourage loyalty among Young Urban Professionals of India (YUMPI) audiences.
