MUMBAI: The first fm station of North Bengal Radio Misty 94.3 fm started the festive sprit of Durga puja with organizing 15 kilometer marathon and 4 km Radio Misty fraternity run with Baghjatin Athletic Club in Siliguri.Mahalaya is an auspicious occasion observed seven days before the durga puja, and heralds the advent of Durga, the goddess of supreme power. It is an invocation and invitation to the mother goddess to rise, awake and descend on earth and annihilate the evils of the world by her Supreme Goodness.
This Marathon and Radio Misty fraternity run was inaugurated by Olympian susmita singha roy and Mayor Bikash Ghosh.Participants from west Bengal,sikkim,jharkhand and other states took part in marathon. Two sides of all roads had huge gathering to support this marathon and fraternity race.
Radio misty fraternity race people of all ages participated in full swing. It started from mallaguri and closed at college road. There was huge crowd to greet the participants at the venue.Bablu Ghosh was declared the winner of 15 km marathon where as Soni Oran in men category and Baby khatun in woman’s category were winners of fraternity race. Radio Misty covered this event live from different spots.

This is 24 th year of marathon organized by this club.
