MUMBAI: The ‘Shuddh Desi Romance’ music composer duo, Sachin Jigar made their appearance on the famous dance reality TV show, ‘Jhalak DikHhla Jaa’ (JDJ). But instead of them shaking a leg, the show’s contestants were asked to perform to some of the duo’s tracks.
“It was really good to be on JDJ and work with people like Remo once again. I had worked with him during ‘ABCD’ and he has come a long way since then,” said Sachin Sanghvi in a candid conversation with Radioandmusic.com.
He also had the time to meet the contestants who danced their hearts out. “When you see it on television someone getting eliminated is a different thing and being there at that moment and watching it happen is very different. I mean you actually feel bad for them,” he further added.

The duo had to recreate all the tracks and give a semi classical touch, so the songs sounded nothing like their original counterparts. The duo recreated songs by AR Rahman, Mithoon, Ankit Tiwari and a few songs that they had done. Citing an example of the song ‘Galliyan’ he said, “We had to be extremely meticulous about our version not spoiling the song. So for one of the songs, ‘Galliyan’ we did soft dub step and then according to the theme of semi classical, we got a ‘sitar’ to play in the lead to give it that touch,” he elaborated.
Sanghavi thoroughly enjoyed the performances of Punit-Lauren and Rachit – Poonam in particular.
