MUMBAI: Ankit Tiwari was buzzing in anticipation of the release of his new song, ‘Galliyan’ for the movie ‘Villain’. However, his joy was short lived after he was arrested for allegedly raping a 28 year old woman on Thursday morning.
The ‘Sun Raha Hai Na Tu’ singer, along with his brother Ankur has been arrested by the Versova Police station. Sources at the police station said that the complaint was filed about five or six days ago, and both the brothers have been taken to Andheri Court.
As per reports, the victim who filed the complaint against them is said to be the singer’s girlfriend. Reports say that he had promised to marry his girlfriend but failed to keep his promise. It is not sure if his girlfriend is pregnant and has been ditched by the singer/ composer.

The victim is said to have met Tiwari through a common friend. Both Ankit and Ankur went to the victim’s house and rapped her at a knife point.
However, it is not the first time that Ankit Tiwari has been in the headlines for the wrong reason. Prior to this, Tellychakkar.com reported that his ex girlfriend, an advertising professional, Nidhi Khanna had filed a complaint against him for ditching her.
