MUMBAI: Ever since it was revealed that surviving members of Nirvana would put on a performance at this year’s Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, there was speculation of who would front the band. Sir Paul McCartney (Beatles) and Michael Stipe (R.E.M.) seemed to be favourites, but only until today. Joining David Gorhl, Krist Novoselic and Pat Smears for the highly anticipated performance might be American rocker Joan Jett.
A recently posted photo on the Foo Fighters’ official Facebook page showed a full instrument set up that included what looked like Jett’s guitar. Alongside it were what is thought to be Smear’s Strat, Novoselic’s bass and Grohl’s drum set. The photo which has no caption, has led many to believe that the ‘I Love Rock and Roll’ singer could possibly join Grohl and company for the performance.
Despite the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame ceremony being just a day away, there has been no mention of whether or not the band will be joined by anyone else on stage.

Grohl, who is the Foo Fghters’ frontman, also played as drummer for the grunge rock band Nirvana, who was led by punk icon Kurt Cobain.
Nirvana’s induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame comes just days after Cobain’s 20th death anniversary. Alongside Nirvana, other rock acts like Kiss, The E Street Band, Linda Ronstadt, Cat Stevens and Peter Gabriel will also be inducted to the Hall of Fame on 10 April 2014.
