MUMBAI: The Rajasthan Patrika led FM venture, Tadka will launch its fourth station in Raipur during the forthcoming Navratri festival.
The station has already started the ground events in the city to make its presence felt amongst its three existing competitors.
Tadka will be the fourth radio station in the city of Raipur after Radio Mirchi, My FM and a local FM station called Rangeela already operational. The new station will position itself as a ‘youth’ station in the city targeting the age group of 17-35.
Talking about the USP of radio station, Tadka FM programming head Vikaas Tiwari said, The audience of the city is not very happy with the kind of content the radio stations are offering. Though the town is small, it has several major issues to be addressed and the radio stations are unable to cater to the masses….
We will position ourselves as a station as a medium that can solve their problems. It would be programmed specially to appeal to the masses with local flavor so that the audience can feel connected to it.”
The station will use Hinglish and play Bollywood songs. The station will also have regional RJs who are well informed about the city. The station intends to build a station around ‘good humoured and light hearted’ RJs who will be perceived as ‘easy to connect’ by listeners.
The station is yet to finalise the programming line up but plans to air some recorded shows from its Jaipur station in the late night slot initially.
As part of promotions, the radio station will start its ground activity in the city of Raipur with contests as well as promotions through hoardings and print ads.
