Mumbai: In its endeavor to further cement the clear leadership that it enjoys amongst the youth of the city as the radio station of choice, BIG 92.7 FM, India’s 1st Station, brings an innovative â€?Sony Ericsson BIG Loud and Famous Fresher Hunt’ contest starting from 8 September. The contest has been conceptualized as a means to capture the excitement in colleges with the entry of a new batch of students. The â€?Fresher’ contest intends to create and provide a platform for all the freshers in colleges to showcase their talent to become the Loud and Famous fresher.
The â€?Sony Ericsson BIG Loud and Famous Fresher’ Contest will commence on September 8 simultaneously in ten cities i.e. Hyderabad, Kanpur, Chandigarh, Kolkata, Trivandrum, Surat, Udaipur, Agra, Vizag and Amritsar. Students from 15 colleges from each city will participate in the contest. BIG Jock will visit colleges and screen participants through various interesting rounds like talent, IQ, Sony Ericsson Loud, louder and loudest, Streax Funky Hairdo contest, BIG talent and Chal cut ley. RJs will also visit the college campuses and conduct the screening on the same along with live links. Participants can register through SMS, Microsite and on-ground entries on ground.
In Loud, Louder and Loudest Contest the participants have to scream on top of their voice. The decibel meter will show the reading on the basis of which the contestants will have to answer a Question. The catch is basically designed, the louder the participant scream the easier the question becomes. Whereas for Funky Hairdo contest the participants have to design a funky hair-do on the spot with whatever material they want to use or in whichever way they like within the given time frame & also pertaining to the rules.

The initial rounds will have in all 30 students short-listed based on the best performances. The participants will be adjudged by emcee, BIG FM RJ and the faculty member of the respective college. A mix of on-ground; on-air and web based contests will result in the selection of the â€?Sony Ericsson BIG Loud and Famous Male & Female Fresher’ of the city. It can’t get bigger than this, as finalists will get a funky hairdo from Streax and each winner couple per city gets a Sony Ericsson R300 phone. The contest will start from 8 September. Yamaha and AHA are the associate sponsors for Hyderabad.
