NEW DELHI: The veteran ghazal singer Ghulam Ali’s famous ghazal ‘Dasni Sharaab Di’ is being presented as a remix in the film ‘Gang of Ghosts’ which will feature actress Paoli Dam.
Interestingly, the remix has been done by none other than Ghulam Ali’s son- Aamir Ali, who had been approached with the idea by director Satish Kaushik. The ghost-comedy has been produced by Venus and Kaushik. Aamir Ali feels that the remix will strike a chord with the youth.
Dam, who made her Bollywood debut as a femme fatale in ‘Hate Story’ and will be featured in her first ever item number with this film, said, “I had a great time shooting this song and I am sure that my fans will enjoy my first ever ‘item number’.”
Talking about how he got associated with the film, Aamir said, “Satishji had attended one of my shows last year and when we met, he asked me to sing a song in his film.”
Elated at the response, he added: “I have got positive reviews about the song so far and I hope that people who are fans of the original ghazal will like the remixed version.”
Venus Records and Tapes and actor-director Satish Kaushik’s ‘Gang of Ghosts’ stars Sharman Joshi, Mahie Gill, Meera Chopra, Parambrata Chatterjee, Anupam Kher, Saurabh Shukla, Vijay Verma, Jackie Shroff, Rajesh Khattar, Chunky Pandey and other actors.
The film is slated for release on 21 March.
