MUMBAI: The sunshine state, Goa has attracted around 30,000 people every day to Candolim beach during the annual festival of Sunburn festival which resulted to traffic congestions and complaints from locals. To combat the same, Goa tourism industry has asked the organisers to scout for alternate venue. However, Sunburn Inceptor and Percept Limited MD Shailendra Singh states that talks are on and it is too early to comment on the same.
This is the seventh edition of Sunburn, one of the biggest electronic dance music festivals of the country. The three day festival in the past has attracted top DJ’s like Paul Van Dyk, Axwell, Richard Durand and many more. On asked about the impact the change in venue could have, Singh says, “Venue plays an important role. But, we cannot comment any further as we are in talks.”
Currently, the early bird tickets are on sale for the fest which is scheduled to take place on 27-29 December in Goa. “Tickets are on sale and we are preparing to announce about the names of artistes line-up for arena gigs,” says Singh.
“We are happy with whatever decision the authorities make because they have been very supportive,” concludes Singh.
This season will feature a mix of new artistes who will showcase niche genres of the evolving EDM scene like Dubstep, Electro, Trap and Hardstyle amongst other popular genres. Last season, featured renowned international stalwarts like Tiesto, Swedish House Mafia, Armin Van Buuren,Afrojack and Fedde le Grand.
