MUMBAI: Artist Aloud’s (AA) new live platform will not focus on its commercial potential but on connecting artists with music lovers. The newly launched weekly ‘Acoustic Tuesday’ satrting 10 September at The Little Door (TLD) pub will be a platform for artists- both new and established- to reach out to fans and stakeholders,” Artist Aloud associate VP Soumini Sridhara Paulhas said.
“Our first Acoustic Tuesday trail show on 3 September was well received and the new artists- Sheldon Savio Ferrera and Nikhil Uzgara- got good reception. The other artists were known names- Shibani Kashyap and Ravi Iyer. We want the property to pick momentum through word of mouth,” she said.
While digital music provider AA (owned by Hungama.com) certainly have bottom-line to attend to, the question of commercial tie-ups or partnerships for initiatives like Acoustic Tuesday will be superseded by its goal to promote good independent music.
“We have no direct aim to ‘help’ AA through Acoustic Tuesday, it more of our expansion offline. We are looking forward to partner more entities but priority is on giving opportunities for artists and music.”
The core objective of the event(s) would be to give artistes and consumers a complete experience- especially those familiar with indie music and artists. The platform is however not closed to Bollywood music- but is more of a promotional platform for indie music, she reiterated.
‘Our current partner TLD is one of the emerging places that are willing to experiment with music,” she added
