UMBAI: Radio One’s programme director west Kobad Mobedjina has resigned from his post. Kobad was a part of the radio station since 2006, having started off as the creative producer and then moving on to be the program director.
On being contacted, Radio One national programming head Vehrnon Ibrahim confirmed that Kobad had decided to move on. “As of now, Malini (an RJ and a senior programme producer) is looking at most of the programming responsilibites and I too am handling a huge chunk of the work,” says Vernon. The station has not found a replacement for Mobedjina as yet.
Kobad says he intends to take a break for six months since he wanted to take it easy and will freelance for various radio stations. “I didn’t quit One, only to join some other station. That would be the case only if I wanted a monetary increment, which is certainly not the situation,” says Kobad. He wants to take to scripting, particularly segments which revolve around humour and sports, says Kobad.
