MUMBAI: Jitter is a Techno/Minimal project by Jayant started in late 2010. His obsession with creating music, started at an early age and he has immersed himself in sounds, creating his own unique brand of electronica. He began producing music in 2003 and has done numerous projects since working with artists such Chebi Sabah, Karsh Kale, Midival Punditz, Juno Reactor and Anoushka Shankar to name a few.
Is electronic dance music all about tidy de?nitions of sound classi?cation? Is the future heading in a staid direction concerned with sitting within the constraints of genre, or is it moving beyond boundaries and reveling in the creation of something entirely new and exciting? ‘Anxious Awakening’ by Jitter chooses to align itself with the latter: the future. The album was conceived with the aim of charting a new course within dance music, one that fuses and melds genres like techno, minimal, progressive and psychedelic into a technical, intelligent package. Its various layers and textures reveal hints of these known styles but presents them as a clean slate. While there are moments of minimalism, the album, as a whole, is crafted with a listener and a club enthusiast alike in mind. The opening track – Anxiuos Awakening – states this intent quite clearly, providing deep, warm, melodic progression layered with sounds of the ?ute, spaced between the unmistakable base of German techno. Chemical World and Friend of a Fiend are both dance ?oor oriented, but with different methods. The former has more psychedelic bass lines, while the latter lends itself to minimal techno. While the other tracks have epic stabs, experimental overtures, hypnotic, often twisted breakdowns, the closing track X-static, weaves the story to a ?tting end, combining all of the above, but using new-skool techno as a grid.
The album debuts on Wakyo Records (Japan) and is releasing worldwide on physical as well as digital on Beatport, Juno Records & iTunes.
