MUMBAI: Celebrating the festive season with a special video, bollywood music channel 9XM has collaborated with ace percussionist Taufiq Qureshi’s band ‘Mumbai Stamp’ to create a special composition for Ganesh Chaturthi.
Titled ‘Taal Pranaam’, the composition is a special tribute to Lord Ganesh and will be aired on the channel from 18 September throughout the festival till 29 September. The track incorporates the high-octane beats of Nashik Dhol, Pune Dhol amongst other local sounds which are created without the actual use of the musical instruments. The instruments used to create the song are recycled cans and drums.
Speaking of his association with 9XM, Taufiq Quershi said, “Lord Ganesha is also known as the father of rhythm and this special rendition is our way to pay tribute to the music maestro. We had an amazing experience of creating ‘Taal Pranaam’ and hope that the viewers will enjoy it as much as we did creating it.”
9X Media Group senior VP & content head Amar Tidke said, “We at 9XM always try and present our viewers with the best of bollywood music and innovation in music. This special rendition ‘Taal Pranaam’ is an apt tribute by the channel to all the devotees of Lord Ganesh for this auspicious season.”
