MUMBAI: British boy-band One Direction is all geared up to star in a 3D-film, slated for release in November 2013.
The movie is still at a concept level and the script and the title are yet to be finalised. The shooting for the film will start next year. As per reports, the band-members will earn ?10 million each through this venture.
The film is expected to follow the footsteps of Justin Bieber’s 2011 3D concert flick ‘Never Say Never’. Earlier, Michael Jackson’s posthumous 2008 documentary film ‘This Is It’ had also garnered worldwide success.
The band recently released ‘Up All Night: The Live Tour’ DVD which ranked number one in sales on the Billboard DVD charts across 25 countries. It was for the first time that a DVD broke the sales of a number one album in the US. In Canada, it holds the record as the second best selling DVD of 2012.
Speaking about the success, Niall Horan from One Direction said, “We’re blown away by the success of the DVD all around the world and want to thank everyone who has gone out and bought it, the support means so much to us.”
One direction released their debut album ‘Up All Night’ in November 2011.
