MUMBAI: Heralding a renaissance for independent music and artistes, Music Matters Live is back in its seventh edition at Singapore. With over 40 bands, the music fest for the first time will broadcast live on YouTube.
The three-day fest commencing from 24-26 May, will feature week-long series of conferences including Music Matters and Digital Matters which will cover trends and opportunities in the digital and music world. The fest will include 11 home-grown independent artistes and bands like The Auditory Effect, Inch Chua, The Great Spy Experiment and more.
The event will also showcase acts from 15 countries which will include special performances by K-Pop bands alongside Pandorum (Australia), Peter Katz (Canada), White+ (China), 9 Maps (Hong Kong), Aftermiles (Indonesia), Early Rise (Israel), BTOB (Korea), Turtlegiant (Macau), Lab the Rat (Malaysia), Midnight Youth (New Zealand), Orangegrass (Taiwan), Myra (Thailand), Gary Nock (UK) and Tara Priya (United States).

The conferences will highlight the conclusions of a research study revealing the consumption patterns of digital media by Ipsos Greater China managing director – Media Steve Garton.
With a keen focus on key Asian music markets such as India, Japan, China and Korea the conference will spotlight issues like consumption of digital music, launching digital services in Asia, issues in music publishing and key factors to successful music festivals. Lady Gaga’s manager Troy Carter will join the line-up of speakers at Music Matters.
Running concurrently with Music Matters will be ‘Singapore Matters’ a networking session, which will provide attending musicians an opportunity to learn from experienced artiste managers, producers and publishers like Music and Entertainment producer Bob Ezrin, Concerts West/ AEG Live president and co-CEO John Meglen amongst others.
