MUMBAI: Indian classical musician Rahul Sharma, who has done more than 50 albums till date, has launched his first santoor – rock album â€?The Rebel’ under Time Music.
The Rebel comprises of six tracks including Rising, Spiritual revolution, Gurudeva, and many more. The rock album is also composed by Rahul Sharma.

Speaking on the album with Radioandmusic.com, Rahul Sharma said, The Rebel is a first of its kind santoor-Rock album. Usually, one would’nt associate an instrument like the santoor in a rock ensemble, but in this album the santoor is in a new avatar. I think this is probably the most unusual album as it really defies classical purists who may think santoor and rock would’nt jell. The Rebel has a lot more electric guitar solos as well as drums and I have composed all the tracks with a rock flavour….
The artiste is also set to perform a fusion concert in collaboration with afghan Rabab player Homayun Sakhi in New York next month at The Metropolitan museum.
