MUMBAI: UK broadband, TV, phone and mobile provider Virgin Media VMED announced today the launch of new offers including the digital music service Spotify for broadband and mobile customers.
The two companies signed an agreement earlier this year, making Virgin Media the only UK digital entertainment provider to offer Spotify bundled with broadband or on TV through its TiVo powered digital TV service. In addition Virgin Media provides the Spotify service through mobile devices on a non-exclusive basis.
Virgin Media’s new bundled offers include Spotify as an integrated part of the service and will allow customers to listen to millions of singles and albums online through their home computers, on mobile devices or through the exclusive Spotify app on the provider’s TiVo powered digital TV service.
New or recontracting customers signing up for Virgin Media’s fibre optic broadband service will get Spotify Premium free for six months as part of their bundle, representing a saving of nearly GBP60, while Virgin Media broadband customers taking out a new pay monthly Virgin Mobile contract will be given a three-month Spotify Premium subscription worth nearly GBP30.
