MUMBAI: King Khan released the music of his much awaited sci-fi film Ra.One in a grand musical style filled with star-studded performances, on Monday 12 September at Film City, Mumbai.
Music duo Vishal-Shekhar has composed the album, while the lyrics are penned by Atahar Panchi, Vishal Dadlani and Kumaar. R&B singer Akon has also recorded two songs for the film, while other singers include Sukhwinder Singh, Shruti Pathak, Nandini Shrikar, Hamsika Iyer and Shafqat Amanat Ali. The music album of the film is under the T-Series label and consists of three remixed versions of the popular song â€?Chammak Chhalo’.
SRK dedicated the music of the film to late filmmaker Yash Johar and the album was released by Karan Johar.
Speaking about the album Shah Rukh Khan said, Vishal- Shekhar has worked very hard for the music of the film. The duo wrote a song that could suite the voice of Akon and this is how the rapper is taken for the film….
Composers Vishal- Shekhar said, It took only three to four hours for us to make Akon sing in Hindi. Music album of Ra.One is grand in every respect, from the kind of songs we have on it, to the collaborations that feature on it, whether with Akon or the Prague Philharmonic Orchestra. It’s complete, it’s innovative, it’s hooky and yet beautiful. We hope everyone who hears it, will love its music as much as we do….
Kareena Kapoor, Arjun Rampal, composers Vishal-Shekhar, singer Sukhwinder Singh, and Shah Rukh himself, performed at the launch. The event was graced by Hungama CEO Neeraj Roy, T-Series head honcho Bhushan Kumar, choreographer Ganesh Hegde, actors Satish Shah, Suresh Menon, Dalip Tahil, sound engineer Resul Pookutty and many others.
Directed by Anubhav Sinha and produced under Khan’s production company Red Chillies Entertainment, Ra.One is slated for a Diwali release on 26 October in both 2D and 3D formats.
