MUMBAI: Senior members and experts of the DRM Consortium will be in New Delhi showcasing DRM+ test coverage, power and interference comparing results with the analogue performance for the same area. The week-long demo (23rd-27th May) involves the participation of DRM Consortium members: Nautel, Fraunhofer, RFmondial, Analog Devices, BBC and the University of Hanover. After evaluation, the result of the test will be made public jointly by AIR and the DRM Consortium.
AIR has already introduced DRM transmissions in the SW band by upgrading its existing technical infrastructure. Similarly, digital transmissions in MW band are likely to commence in the near future in India as the technical facilities are being upgraded. AIR has opted for the DRM30 standard for digital transmissions in AM bands. AIR has also devised a plan to introduce digital transmissions in FM Band.
