MUMBAI: Martin Garrix, arguably the world’s youngest DJ who recently was crowned the World’s #1 DJ at the DJ Mag Top 100 Awards in Amsterdam, performed at Sunburn Arena, Mumbai on 10 November at the Mahalaxmi Racecourse. It was a charity gig and as a result, 10,000 underprivileged Indian children will be educated on the 10 year Magic Bus program.
People of Mumbai witnessed over 40,000 Indian fans who showed up at to support him in his endeavour and see the Dutch DJ live. Before hitting the stage, Martin Garrix joined Percept managing director Shailendra Singh in presenting a donation check to Matthew Spacie, founder of Magic Bus.

Talking about it, Inceptor of Sunburn and Percept MD Shailendra Singh said, “It just shows you how grounded Martin is. Even after becoming world #1, he agreed to take time from his schedule to come to India and donate his performance for to children’s education Magic Bus children. He didn’t hesitate to say ‘yes, let’s do this!’ He’s accomplished so much, but this shows you what’s important to him.”
Commenting on the same, Magic Bus founder Matthew Spacie said, “We couldn’t be more thankful to Martin Garrix and Shailendra. Through this donation, we will be able to enrol support 10,000 new children in communities all across India, in our program. This is the kind of support that is helping to ensure that 99 per cent of our children stay in school and continue on a path to livelihood.”
20500 Magic Bus children were on hand present to celebrate the donation handover, and felicitate Martin Garrix and Shailendra Singh.
“We wanted Martin to be able to really feel the impact that he is making for these 10,000 children. The Magic Bus children got to thank him, and Martin got to witness how his one act, can change the lives of so many,” said Shailendra Singh.
