MUMBAI: When it’s about Salman Khan, there’s always a story even behind a mundane incident.
Composer duo Manmeet and Harmeet Singh aka Meet Bros were recently speaking about their tryst with Salman and how the track Hangover from the film Kick was created.
The self-taught musicians shot to the limelight with chartbuster numbers like ‘Baby Doll’, ‘Party Toh Banti Hai’, ‘High Heels’ and ‘Chittiyaan Kalaiyaan’. The title track of the film ‘Hangover’ was penned by Kumaar and composed by Meet Bros and Anjjan.

“When we were producing tracks for the film Kick, one day Salman Khan came to our studio and said he wanted to sing the title track himself. We thought, he is a huge star, also the promotion for the song will be massive, and however, the honesty of the song will be omitted. We were hesitant initially but how can we say no to Bhai! Seeing us in doubt, Salman Khan called his in-house music directors – Himesh Reshammiya and Sajid-Wajid. Everyone came to our studio in the middle of the night. The way he came in shorts and tee, I said Bhai, aap hi gaa rahe ho gaana,” shared Meet Bros.
“We have recorded the song Hangover in Salman’s voice and after listening to the recording, everyone said he sounded great. All we can say is it was fantastic recording with Salman Khan. It was the most learning lesson of our lives as we saw him being so passionate about the tune while singing. The way he sang the song, the passion that makes him Salman Khan,” added Manmeet.
The song Hangover in Salman’s voice was released on 19 August 2014, on T-series.
This was not the first time Salman lent his vocals to a song. His debut in the music world dates back to his family production Hello Brother which was released in 1999. Salman Khan’s debut as a singer was with Alka Yagnik for ‘Hello Brother.’

Composed by Himesh Reshammiya, penned by Mayur Puri, ‘Tu Hi Tu’ is another song from ‘Kick’, sung by Salman Khan.
Main Hoon Hero Tera – Hero
Composed by Amaal Mallik, penned by Kumaar, the title track of the film ‘Hero’ was sung by Salman Khan.
