MUMBAI: Two years after the serial blasts in Jaipur on May 13th 2008, RED FM Jaipur did a campaign in the city named Jagte Raho… to put a check on the security arrangements done by the police authorities for this very sensitive day and to see that, are jaipurites aware and careful about their lives? Do they come and complain to the police if they see any suspicious thing or activity on streets? All the RJ’s including RJ Kabeer, RJ Anuradha and RJ Ishaan were on a special operation task to go into the different areas of the city including educational institutions, offices, wall city markets, malls, bus stand and hospitals etc and place a black polythene bag in the busiest area which looked like that it could be a bomb. It was very surprising to see that on most of the places people were not even bothered about the suspicious polythene bag and even after the bag being lying for half an hour, no one bothered to even talk to someone about that. Even the police officials or the guards standing close to the target were least concerned despite having special instructions to be cautious but caution ki khul gayi pol jab RJ’s ne lagaya pure shehar ka chakkar aur diya logon ki aankhon ko khol aur samjhaya-…jagte raho jaipur jaagte raho….
Out of all the places it was only bus stand where when RJ Ishaan plotted the target, people noticed it and complained to the nearest police station and within 10 minutes the duty officer and other officials were there and the RJ had to tell that I am from radio and we were actually trying to see as are people sleeping or awake.
RJ Anuradha also had an interesting experience at the busiest badi chaupad of the city which is also the bangle market and it was exactly the same place where blast took place two years back. She placed the target very comfortably and not even a single person noticed it. Later when they were asked, especially the shopkeeper Imran, he got very embarrassed and nervous but then he promised that next time he will be very cautious about any suspicious thing around and will prove to be an aware citizen of the city.

In one of the busiest mall, Saraogi Mansion, RJ Kabeer also placed his target and no one noticed it. When he tried to figure it out from the guards, they refused to talk about it but after getting finally convinced they said that we are aware aur jab kuch aisa hota hain toh dande se hila kar dekh lete hain….nahi samjh mien aata toh side mien rakh dete hain…. The best part was that after this big exercise of Red FM, they realized their mistake and agreed to be very careful next time.
This activity of RED FM Jaipur was definitely an eye opener for Jaipurites to say to themselves every time jagte Raho… so that terrorists can’t even think in their dream to disturb the peace and harmony of Jaipur.
