MUMBAI: Mika Singh’s successes with his song hits appear to go parallel with the controversies he courts with amazing regularity.
Barely had the inked dried on reports of allegations that he had molested a fashion designer and the Versova police registering a case against him, that the singer stooped to some not-so-funny comments targeted at singer Neeti Mohan and actor Diana Penty.
At the launch of his song ‘Gabru’ from the film ‘Happy Bhag Jaegi’ at Mumbai’s Hard Rock Cafe on Tuesday, Mika, who has sung another song earlier with Neeti, quipped to the audience,“It’s my second song with Neeti, before this, it was ‘Taang Uthake’ (lifting your leg), abhi sab kuch uthake aayega (this time everything will be lifted).” Understandably, no one laughed at his poor attempt at humour.

When the team of the film, including actors Ali Fazal, Jimmy Sheirgill, Diana, producer Krishika Lulla, director Mudassar Aziz were arranging themselves for a photo-op, Mika said, “I want that Deena, you come in the centre.” And when he was corrected on her right name, this is what he had to add, “Diana Penty and Mika Kaccha (underwear), it’s a good name.”
This might have embarrassed the actor to the core, but Mika didn’t stop himself, humming the same lame joke continuously.
“So I am a big fan of Happy (Diana), four years ago when her film had released, it was wonderful, and she had matched up with Saif Ali (Khan) and Deepika (Padukone). Already ‘Cocktail’ was a big film and today is a big day that even I have sung for her, so she is very lucky,” said Mika. If this is Mika’s idea of humour,
