MUMBAI: Artist Aloud is back with their 5th Artist Aloud Music Awards. A Property of Hungama, the awards are India’s only Digital Awards for Independent Artists in Music. Artist Aloud – a digital media, distribution and talent management platform for talent and independent content from across the globe is the most popular digital platform for music fans in India and the Artist Aloud Music Awards are the biggest recognition platform for upcoming and established independent musical talents.
Conceptualized in 2010 with the intent of honouring the who’s who of the music industry and to encourage the upcoming talent from the Indian music scene, the Artist Aloud Music Awards have grown in popularity with each edition, to become the most reckoned with awards in the independent music space. The awards are the most engaging awards for music fans as they span a seven week voting and shortlisting period where fans get to vote for their favourite musical talents across multiple genres.
With a much grander awards presentation planned this time, the Artist Aloud Music Awards will honour over 200 artists from India and around the globe, recognizing the amazing wealth of talent we have across pop, rock, fusion, and global music genres. The awards are based on both, jury and public voting, with the first round of public voting beginning on the 1 March in the run up to the Top 20 shortlist across Best Song, Best Male, Best Female, and Best Group categories, followed by the second round of voting for deciding the winners. Artist Aloud will also be featuring a live acoustic showcase of the Top 20 shortlist during the second round of public voting, giving artists more exposure to their fans and music lovers get a chance to hear more of their favourite artists. An even broader list of categories will get awarded based on jury voting. And to make truly special this year, the grand finale of the awards is scheduled to happen on 20 April at The Blue Frog, Lower Parel, Mumbai and will feature a host of celebrity presenters and industry stalwarts, giving away awards in the 14 categories along with several live musical performances. The event will be live streamed through Artist Aloud’s Youtube, Facebook, and Twitter platforms as well as the Hungama app.
