MUMBAI: Based on Delhi’s infamous MMS scandal, Dibakar Banerjee’s Love Sex Aur Dhoka has been in the spotlight for its bold subject and alleged controversial scenes
Interestingly, the film’s catchy title track ‘Love Sex Aur Dhoka’ calls the same attention – thanks to the ‘funky melody – crass lyrics’combination. But did you know that the music for this rather bold subject comes from a 24-year-old female bollywood composer?
The composer in question is Sneha Khanwalkar who has also composed for National Award Winning film Oye Lucky Lucky Oye, and unconventional rip offs like that of Superman of Malegaon

While she is happy with the feedbacks she is receiving for LSD’s music, Khanvalkar recalls that when she told her father she was doing a film called ‘Love Sex Aur Dhoka’, he became apprehensive.
“My father was very apprehensive when I told him that I am working on this film that goes with a title of ‘Love Sex Aur Dhoka’. He felt the title was inappropriate and gave me a lecture for over an hour trying to explain me why it should ideally be ‘Love and Dhoka’,” she laughs.
Speaking about the title track, Khanvalkar says she didn’t really approach the subject methodically, “We didn’t follow any back drop, it was not genre specific.” She reveals, “The title track is actually a song for one of those typical sleazy music videos.”
The lyrics of the title track are written by director Dibakar Banerjee, and the lines he wrote proved to be quite an inspirational says Khanvalkar, “He’s a fantastic lyricist to work with,” she adds.
One of the songs, ‘Tu Nangi Acchi Lagti Hai’ has already been in a controversy, and now the lyrics of the song have been changed to ‘Tu Gandi Acchi Lagti Hai’. Explaining the reason behind changing the lyrics, she says, “Certain thing may sound too loud or jarring at face value.” However, adds that the song is a soulful one
However, there’s more to the music of ‘Love Sex Aur Dhoka’. The album features three songs sung by sufi singer Kailash Kher where he is mouthing things we have perhaps never heard from him. Khanvalkar says, “The songs have words which he would have never used in his life, but he was sporting enough to sing them nevertheless.”
