MUMBAI: Sunburn 2018 wrapped with a big bang and the vibe was just brilliant. The makers indeed put in their best and the festival turned out to be a big musical treat. While artists like Armin Van Burren, DJ Snake, Vini Vici, Nucleya, Divine and many others did sway the crowd with their massive energy. But, we found something not just right with the audience amidst Sunburn 2018. The crowd seemed to be just engrossed into their cell phones clicking pictures. Yes, of course, there were photo Booths to click pictures. But it was quite disrespectful when headliner Armin Van Burren started off with his performance and the entire crowd was just busy taking a video; this went on for good 20-25 minutes. Well, this was not the sight we expected to see, in fact, we thought people would just probably switch on their energy level and dance on seeing him.
The above one is just one example, but we found many instances where people were not really gripping to the vibe of the place, feeling the music, but were into clicking pictures. No doubt Sunburn 2018 was a massive vibrant festival and the makers had put loads of efforts for us to enjoy, the reason we felt that your experience at Sunburn would be more beautiful if you did not use your phone/ phone camera much.
