MUMBAI: As per the National Association for the Blind there are over 15 million blind people in India who dream of having a vision of their own… but with limited eye donations in the country it certainly remains a serious challenge to fulfill the dreams of millions to have a sight of their own. In an attempt to change the outlook of people and motivate them to pledge to donate their eyes, Radio Mirchi 98.3 FM in association with Venu Eye Institute has launched the Naya Saal Naya Nazariya Mubarak drive.
To bring smiles on various faces and give them a hope to see the world with their own eyes, Radio Mirchi 98.3FM through its special campaign will not only spread awareness about cornea transplantation but will also encourage families to understand how important and special this gesture can be.
Launching the initiative, Yatish Mehrishi, Cluster and Station Head, New Delhi said, Through our initiative like Hari Puttar audio screening, Storytelling sessions for the blind etc in the past we have made an attempt to bring smiles on the faces of the visually impaired. Naya Saal Naya Nazriya Mubarak is yet another effort from our end to encourage millions of listeners to come forward and join hands in gifting sight to the people who are visually impaired. We are confident that our listeners would support the campaign wholeheartedly….
As part of the campaign, leading eye experts are sharing information about cornea transplant, discussing case studies with curious Radio Mirchi listeners. Additionally, the doctors will also address the queries and provide necessary information to the listener’s regarding concerns like eye donations, how is the surgery carried on and the cost of the surgery etc.
