Sung by former Silk Route member Mohit Chauhan, Rahman yet again proved that he can make silly invented words sound so hip!

Not many know that Iktara was composed more than a year before it was released, or that it was never going to a part of Wake Up Sid Amit Trivedi came on board score background music for the film, but also gave one of the most raw musical gem to bollywood’s music lovers. The female version features Kavita Seth while the male version features Tochi Raina – equally well!
Muddi muddhi ittefaq se (Ilaiyaraja – Paa)
It not always that we get to hear the genius Ilaiyaraja working for bollywood, but in his score for Paa he does offer this jazzy breezy number that’s hard to ignore Ilaiyaraja uses Shilpa Rao’s husky voice to for the song while his delightful arrangements do the rest of the magic. Not to forget, the song sets a great mood.
Tu jaane na (Kailash Kher version) (Pritam – Ajab Prem Ki Gajab Kahani)
What Kailash Kher does to this song is matchless. His acoustic take on the song paried with his raw vocals – phenomenal! Is there anyone else who can pull this off?
Pesa Pesa (RDB – De Dana Dan)
Sung by UK based Punjabi music exponents RDB, their popularity is rising when it comes to bang bang beat music. Love it or hate it, but Pesa Pesa has an ability to hit the human groove neuron. Not doubt, once the stressed out train travelers have put this on, the enthusiasm returns. .. magically
Kurbaan Hua (Salim Sulaiman – Kurbaan)
This song by Vishal Dadlani changes the mood altogether. Heavily loaded with effects, loops and strong basslines, this one is full of energy – the sound is same as that of Pentagram – easily one of the best out and out rock songs of the year.
Alisha (Salim Sulaiman – Pyaar Impossible)
Anoushka Manchanda delivers this trendy rap infused number with panache. And Salim Merchant as a singer gets better and better – it’s impossible to let this one go of the hook Though it does remind of the many Rahamanic arrangements, this one deserves to be on the list to pep your mood.
