MUMBAI: The Confederation of Indian Industries (CII) is organising a Roundtable on Proposed Copyright Amendment Bill 2009: Implications to Media and Entertainment Industry on 24 December at India Habitat Centre in New Delhi.
The recently proposed Copyright (Amendment) Bill 2009 has created quite a stir in the industry. The CII roundtable aims to generate a debate and bring forth the implications to various stakeholders- from broadcasting industry to films and music companies. Viewpoints on the legal repercussions on major copyright hinges will also be discussed in order to get an overall picture and move towards a more amicable solution.
Offering a broadcaster perspective will be IBF president and Dish TV MD Jawahar Goel and Star CEO Uday Shankar. Offering his take from the film side will be Eros International Group CEO A P Parigi. IMI president Vijay J Lazarus will give his take on what the music industry thinks.

The speakers are I&B Joint Secretary (Broadcasting) Zohra Chatterji, CII National Committee on Legal Services chairman Lalit Bhasin, The Film and Television Producers Guild of India VP Bobby Bedi, Star senior VP, legal and regulatory Deepak Jacob, News Broadcasters Association president Sameer Manchanda and Amarchand & Mangaldas & Suresh A Shroff and co managing partner Shardul Shroff.
