MUMBAI: ‘Bottled Up Tight’ singer Luke Sital Singh is coming to India to please his fans and to promote his new album ‘The Fire Inside’ in India. He will play at Pune and Delhi NH7 weekender and at Humming Tree, Bengaluru.

British songwriter is looking for many such opportunities in the sub-continent in the coming years.  Sital-Singh said, “Coming to India is an exciting prospect for me as the markets are emerging for music and this has allowed many people to focus in India. I am assuming that I will do many shows in India soon.”

His debut album ‘The Fire Inside’ which was released under Warner Music Group (WMG) will be made available in India through Sony music India. Sital-Singh has signed a world-wide deal with WMG. “After my India tour, I will be travelling to Europe which would be my last tour for the year. Next year, I will be writing more songs as I plan to put out more music. I plan to work on a new album,” said Sital-Singh. In 2015, he plans to announce a UK tour.

Talking about the 12 track album, he said, “I have been doing things for over ten years now but things started working in my favour in the last two years. I put out three EPs with four tracks each, which built my foundation for the album. The album was the continuation of the EP. It is an emotional record which could be very intense at times. I like writing songs that are sad and that is a sort of thing that moves me the most.” He believes that the kind of songs he writes requires lot of energy. “I am very proud of the kind of music I do,” Sital-Singh expressed. In 2012, he released his debut EP ‘Fail for you’ which was followed by ‘Bottled Up Tight’.

According to him, producer Iain Archer and he are two individuals who believe in the concept of telling stories through simple music.

‘Greatest Lovers’ singer was “nervous” and “scared” before his debut album was out but now he is “proud” that the album is a “good representation” of his music. He considers himself from the old school of music that enjoys releasing album rather than releasing singles. “I am more of an album lover and I will always be. I am thinking that albums will disappear in few years but there will be few people like me who will put out albums. I love the kind of world I am in. I will continue listening to music my way.” In past three years, he inculcated a likening for Vinyl records and has collected around 50-60 vinyl and he hopes to continue this hobby. “I buy the once I love,” he said.

Sital-Singh has no one particular inspiration for his album but his biggest inspiration in his life continues to be “Neil Young, Ryan Adams and Bon Iver, the lesser known people who we do not hear of very often.”
